Popular and Prosperous Pleasure Quarters: The Inamoto House, 1879 - Attractive illustration of the Inamoto House in the pleasure district, with courtesans relaxing on an upper story verandah overlooking the busy street. In the center, a young kamuro or child apprentice mixes ink on a stone for the woman at right how is writing a long letter. At left, a beauty wears an elegant outer kimono patterned with rabbits and splashing waves. Cherry trees blossom in the garden in the center of the boulevard below, surrounded by yellow flowering shrubs. A charming design with wonderful detail. A seldom-seen Chikanobu triptych.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels, backed with paper. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases, a few stains at edges. Please see photos for details.
