Tanabata Celebration

Comments - Handsome scene of a group celebrating the Tanabata Festival. The hostess kneels on a red cushion next to a teapot in a brazier, with her guests kneeling respectfully before her. Tiers of mochi cakes are stacked on shelves at left, and a branch decorated with ornaments and poem slips hangs overhead at right. Wonderful detail in the festive subject.
