Prince Genji Enjoying a Boat Ride, 1867 - Charming scene of Genji and two beauties enjoying a boat ride, with a girl manning an oar as they gently glide along. A young boy peers over the side of the boat at two mandarin ducks bobbing on the water. Their ornate boat is beautifully decorated, and the girl wears an exotic Chinese robe trimmed with ruffles. At left, two women watch from a verandah overlooking the lake. Blossoming cherry trees dot the landscape in the distance. An attractive design, nicely detailed.
