Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Comments - Terrific winter landscape of travelers crossing the frozen Lake Suwa, small white cracks appearing in the ice as they make their way. The row of pedestrians and riders on horseback zigzags back through the composition, leading the viewer's eye to the impressive complex of Suwa Castle at left and Mt. Fuji in the distance. This wonderful large format print would make a fantastic framed presentation.
