Comments - Terrific scene of the young Maeda Inuchiyo fighting bravely at the Battle of Okehazama. He knocks down an enemy with his spear as his horse gallops along, a fierce expression on his face as his hair whips around his head. The personal standard or sashimono above his back is topped with an eerie skull. At left, another samurai tumbles to the side while two more rush up at right in a vain attempt to catch Maeda. Inuchiyo was the childhood name of Maeda Yoshiie, who became one of Oda Nobunaga's leading generals. A bold, dynamic image, wonderfully detailed with touches of burnishing on the armor.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three attached panels. Remnants of paper hinge mounts on reverse at three point on top edge. Loss at edge, repaired.
