Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of a river crossing, with a samurai carrying a beauty on his back as he wades through the shallow water. A young boy at his side looks up with a worried expression, a hand drum tucked under his arm as he lifts his pant leg to keep it from getting wet. At left, a boatman leaning against his oar and a beauty holding a basket of herbs watch as a juggler performs a trick using metal rings. A blossoming cherry tree and willow branches frame the night sky above, and a couple yellow butterflies flutter above the water. An interesting subject, nicely detailed.
