Yakko and Samurai Wielding Swords, 1873 - Handsome kabuki triptych of two samurai wielding swords while two yakko or footmen at left grimace at each other angrily. The warrior at right brandishes his sword above his head with both hands, his opponent thrusting his weapon at him. The two yakko glare at each other, ignoring the conflict going on beside them, one of them holding a heavy rope attached to a bucket over his shoulder. From left, the actors are Seki Sanjuro as Ippei, Nakamura Tokizo as Sanpei, Onoe Kikugoro as Naruse Tozo, and Kawarazaki Gonnosuke as Torii Shiroemon. An attractive design with large figures, rich color, and a decorative simulated lacquer frame border.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Three separate panels. A couple small holes, repaired. Slight creasing. Please see photos for details.
