Escaping from the Maw of the Tiger to the Lair of the Dragon: Chosakabe Nobuchika, Sengoku Gonbei, and Konishi Yakuro Yukinaga, 1883 - Dramatic scene of two warriors battling each other in the open countryside. At left, Sengoku Gonbei lunges forward with his spear as Chosakabe Nobuchika's dappled horse rears on its hind legs. Nobuchika grips his sword with both hands, leaning over the side of his mount. At left, Konishi Yakuro Yukinaga gallops past the samurai, looking back over his shoulder as he rides. Wonderful detail in the armor and weapons, with fine bokashi shading in the background.

Condition - Beautifully printed with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. X-shaped tear in each panel, repaired. Slight toning and soiling at edge. Please see photos for details.
