Floating Fans down a Stream

Comments - Attractive Chikanobu triptych depicting a group of beauties enjoying a spring afternoon. The women are gathered along the edge of a narrow winding stream, tossing their fans into the flowing water and watching them drift along with fallen cherry petals. On the verandah at left, beauties kneel around a low table writing poem onto the colorful fans. The landscape is bursting with color, with large peony blossoms and shrubs covered with yellow or red flowers dotting the grounds, and a blossoming cherry tree framing the scene at right. An attractive design with wonderful detail in the elegant kimono fabrics and lively color. Nicely accented with embossing on the white kimono collars and burnishing on the black kimono.
