Tokonatsu (Wild Carnation), Chapter 26 - Interesting scene of Nakamura Utaemon IV as the fishmonger Danshichi Kurobei in the popular kabuki play "Natsu Matsuri." Here, he twists the hand of Otori Sagaemon as his victim howls in pain, dancing about. Danshichi wears an intricately patterned blue and white summer kimono tied with a checked obi, his feet spread firmly apart with one foot inside the doorway and the other out, the curtains hanging over one shoulder. Nice expressive figures. The first time we've offered this Kuniyoshi subject.
