Sumida River Ferry Crossing, circa 1843 - 1846 - Handsome scene of a ferry crossing on the Sumida River in Edo. In the boat at right, a beauty shades her eyes as she scans the scene, the woman beside her holding a blossoming cherry branch. At left, a young child watches excitedly as a bird dives for a fish. Along the bank at left, a torii gates lead to a shrine, the fenced grounds dotted with flowering cherry trees. Wonderful detail in this charming scene from daily life, with fine bokashi shading in the water.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Two separate panels, backed with paper. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
