Series; Praise for Multicolored Blossoms

Geisha Komachi of Owari-ro and Shimeko of Nakanocho, 1883 - Attractive scene of the geisha Komachi of Owari-ro and Shimeko of Nakanocho enjoying a winter afternoon inside. One of the women reads a letter, the long message trailing down onto the floor as she gestures to her companion. The other beauty sits next to a tobacco set, holding a slender pipe. A small stack of folded tissues rests on the floor nearby, alongside a writing set. A bonsai plum tree blooms on the windowsill, and a traveler makes his way through the falling snow outside, a flock of geese visible in the distance. The inset at upper left shows two doves fluttering near snow-covered bamboo. A charming beauty subject with lively color and fine detail, including burnishing in the black kimono trim and faint embossing on the letter.
