Series; Praise for Multicolored Blossoms

Futomaki and Ariwara of Tsunoebi-ro, 1883 - Charming scene of Futomaki and Ariwara of Tsunoebi-ro playing sugoroku, a board game very similar to backgammon. They smile and chat, absorbed in their game, one leaning forward as she contemplates her next move. A tobacco set and a go board rest on the floor on either side of the beauties, and a niche behind them holds a floral arrangement of irises and cherry blossoms in front of a hanging scroll. A screen at left depicts lovers playing a flute together. An attractive design with wonderful color and detail in the elegant furnishing and clothing.
