Snow, 1847 - 1852 - Terrific illustration from the famous "Tale of Genji" showing the young prince warming himself at a ceramic brazier. A beauty stands near the open verandah, gesturing as a young woman arrives carrying a snow rabbit on a plate with leaves for ears. Outside in the courtyard beauties frolic in the snow, having a snowball fight. A charming subject with beautiful detail in the handsome interior setting. The Boston Museum of Fine Arts has this image in its collection. A classic Edo era scene.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 29 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Three separate panels. Small losses at corners, holes, and thinning spots, repaired. Slight toning, soiling, and rubbing, a few wrinkles and marks. Please see photos for details.
