Comments - Charming portrait of a courtesan and a young girl in an interior. The courtesan holds a baby or doll, smiling as she looks down at her companion. The child kneels on the floor beside her, petting a gray and white cat as it rubs against her knee. A blue and white ceramic bowl and a wooden box rest on the window ledge at left, and a green lacquer box and red lacquer tray rest on a shelf at right. An attractive design, nicely composed, with a decorative geometric border.
