Beauties of Two Eras

Series; Brocade of Edo

Beauties of Two Eras - Charming scene of an upper-class beauty standing on a verandah framed by colorful flowers and delicate grasses. She wears an elegant white kimono with an allover embossed pattern, and wraps a floral cloth around her waist. Her "moth wing" eyebrows and long straight hair are reminiscent of the Heian era, but the woman kneeling behind her wears modern dress, contemporary to the artist's own era. Beautifully printed with fine line work, burnishing, and touches of silver mica. A lovely Chikanobu design.

Image Size - 12 3/4" x 8 3/4" + margins as shown
