Series; Pictures of Flowers of Japan

Tying a Poem Slip to a Cherry Tree - Charming design of a girl tying a poem slip to the branch of a flowering cherry tree. She stands with one foot on the bottom railing of a bridge as she reaches for the branch, causing a shower of pink petals to fall. A cloth panel is draped around the trunk of the tree to provide privacy for the viewing party, and a polka dot kimono hangs over the cloth panel at right. An attractive scene with lovely color and touches of silver mica embellishment.

Artist - Gekko (1859 - 1920)

Image Size - 8 1/2" x 12 3/4" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Backed with paper. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and spots. Red seal near top center. Please see photos for details.
