Ten Views of Shinano - Best known as the leading shin-hanga designer of beauty portraits, Ito Shinsui also produced a number of beautiful landscape prints. These expressive images feature wide vistas and heightened color, along with energetic line work. After WWII, Shinsui left the ruined city of Tokyo for Komoro in Nagano Prefecture, the former Shinano Province. While there, he completed his "Ten Views of Shinano." These attractive designs are excellent examples of his stunning landscapes.

This Special Commemorative Edition - In 1997 to celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of Ito Shinsui's birth, Watanabe produced a special limited edition of 195 prints of each design in the "Ten Views of Shinano" series. Each print has a numbered seal in Japanese on the reverse (see image below). These prints are rarely seen on the market and this is the first time we've offered them, so if they appeal to you, don't miss this opportunity to acquire one of these fantastic designs.
