Legends of the Storehouse of Loyal Retainers, Individually - Handsome kabuki series depicting major characters from the classic drama about the 47 ronin, "The Storehouse of Loyal Retainers" (Chushingura). Each design features two portraits from the same act, the large expressive figures nicely filling the page against a softly shaded night sky. Some prints include deluxe publishing techniques such as burnishing and embossing. The first time we've offered designs from this rarely seen 1855 Toyokuni III series.

Special detail - Embossing on the white kimono collar.
