Comments - Fantastic okubi-e or large head portrait of the kabuki actor Ichikawa Yaozo II. He stares over his shoulder with an angry frown, his brows furrowed, one hand resting atop the hilt of hiss sword. He wears a black kimono with a beautiful embossed pattern of paulownia, the three concentric rice measure crest of the Ichikawa Danjuro line of actors on his shoulder. His hair is pulled back into a neat topknot, tied with white cords. A great expressive image, detailed with subtle pink shading around the eyes and inside the ear.
