Fishing-boats Hooking Bonito in Choshi Bay in Shimosa Province

Comments - Beautiful Hokuju design depicting a group of fishermen struggling to row their craft through rolling waves on Choshi Bay. The men pull on their oars with all their might as the undulating waves splash against the boat. Two boats are anchored out in the bay, dropping lines to catch bonito. The rocky shore provides a dramatic setting, with softly shaded clouds overhead. A striking composition and a rare subject to find in reprint.
