The 47 Ronin, Act 7: The Ichiriki Teahouse in Gion - Handsome scene from the kabuki play "Kanadehon Chushingura," based on the true story of the 47 Ronin. The leader of the ronin, Yuranosuke stands on a verandah of the Ichiriki Teahouse in Gion with his sword drawn after discovering the spy Kudayu hiding beneath the floorboards. A man attempts to drag the spy from his hiding place as he clings to a wooden pillar. The beauty Okaru reacts in alarm, throwing her hands out at her sides and other men rush from inside at the sound of the commotion. A beautifully detailed setting with rich color. A fine subject for a samurai enthusiast.
