A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

Iwai Shijaku as a Beauty with a Battledore - Interesting kabuki portrait of Iwai Shijaku as a beauty holding a battledore, smiling as she walks along. She carries a baby on her back beneath her kimono, the top of the child's head just visible. Her green kimono is patterned with the takaramono or precious things, auspicious objects which include a hat that makes the wearer invisible and a straw raincoat that allows the wearer to fly, and she has a plaid apron tied around her waist. A nice expressive figure.

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 8 7/8"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Horizontal folds. Slight toning, soiling, and creasing. Please see photos for details.
