Arashi Kichisaburo as a Nobleman

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of Arashi Kichisaburo as a nobleman sitting on a cushion at the top of a flight of stairs. He scowls angrily as he looks over his shoulder, a fan in one hand and the other atop a lacquer arm rest. He wears a purple coat patterned with paulownia and trimmed with a pleated print collar over a blue and white kimono, tied with a green floral obi. A folding screen behind him is decorated with splashing waves. An attractive design with a nicely detailed setting.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 7/8" x 10 1/4" + top margin as shown

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Small loss at edge, a couple small holes, repaired. Slight toning and creasing. Please see photos for details.
