Dancer and Musicians, 1856

Comments - Charming scene of a shirabyoshi dancer performing on a verandah, accompanied by beauties playing the hands drum and shamisen. The young woman strikes a graceful pose with a fan extended in one hand, holding her sleeve out with the other. She wears a red kimono decorated with cherry blossoms and flowing water, and a yellow court cap. Blossoming cherry trees fill the valley below with darker pines in the distance. An attractive design.
