Sawamura Tossho as a Samurai in Battle, 1868 - Great kabuki portrait of Sawamura Tossho as a samurai in the midst of a battle, gripping his sword above his head with both hands as bullets streak across the night sky. He grimaces angrily as he looks to the side, the sleeves of his blue kimono tied back with a white sash. A few figures in dark silhouette can be seen fighting behind him. A nice large expressive figure.
