Nakamura Fukusuke as a Servant, 1856

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of Nakamura Fukusuke as a servant kneeling in an interior, holding his master's sword upright. He grins happily as he looks up, wearing a blue kimono with a distinctive striped collar over a red under robe with a similar collar. A gorgeous kimono depicting flowing water and maple leaves, trimmed with layers of brocade, hangs over a lacquer stand behind him, with a matching lacquer makeup chest topped with a hand mirror at right. Lovely color and detail in this attractive setting.

Image Size - 14" x 10" + margins as shown
