Series; Poems, Painting, and Calligraphy (Haika shoga kyodai)

Poems, Painting, and Calligraphy - Handsome kabuki print from a rarely seen series featuring portraits of an actors, each accompanied by a verse and a painting. The actor appears in a large rectangular inset at lower right, with the series title above and a vertical panel at left containing the poem written in calligraphy and a nature painting. The series title has various translations, including "Combined Pictures and Calligraphy of Actor-Poets." An interesting kabuki format.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. A few wormholes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and spots. Please see photos for details.
