The Immortal Poets, 1879 - Interesting kabuki scene featuring two of Japan's famous Six Immortal Poets, set against a backdrop of blossoming plum trees with poem slips tied to them, the verses fluttering in the breeze. At bottom, a mustachioed nobleman looks up with a rather alarmed expression as the monk behind him dances about. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the black court cap and the black edge of the fan.
