View of a Banquet for the Toyotomi Clan by Lord Tokugawa, 1877

Comments - Interesting scene of a banquet for members of the Toyotomi clan held by Lord Tokugawa, who appears behind the fine reed blind at far left. Dressed in formal court attire, the men are seated around the room, with a tray of sweets on the floor in the center. Behind them, an elegant screen is decorated with cranes and flowering bush clover along a river. Beautifully printed and nicely detailed with burnishing on the black court caps. We've only seen this rare Yoshitoshi triptych twice before.

Artist - Yoshitoshi (1839 - 1892)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 29 1/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - Beautifully printed with excellent color and detail as shown. Three attached panels, backed with paper. Vertical folds between panels. A couple light horizontal lines where backing papers meet. Please see photos for details.
