Elderly Samurai, Beauty, and Cockatoo - Interesting kabuki scene of a gray-haired samurai striking a pose with his folding fan held out at his side as a beauty watches him. She leans against a black lacquer armrest, a sober expression on her face. Behind them a cockatoo is perched on the branch of a tree drawn with fine calligraphic line work. The elder appears to be watching the cockatoo, but we are unsure if it represents an actual bird or is just part of an elegant painted interior. An intriguing image.
