A Framed Set of Senryu Poems Dedicated to Mt. Takao, 1861

Comments - Intriguing scene of a young man and a group of beauties visiting a garden. A fenced garden bed with a variety of blossoms plants is topped with a large placard featuring two rabbits under a full moon at right, and a set of senryu poems dedicated to Mt. Takao on the left, all sheltered under a wooden roof. The women smile and chat happily, each dressed in an elegant kimono. The man wears a black coat over his striped kimono, grinning as he looks back at his companions. Lovely detail in this unusual subject.
