Fuji Arts’ Kuchi-e Print Clearance Opening at $39
A Fuji Arts Special Offer Auction

The Kuchi-e Tradition - Kuchi-e prints are woodblock frontispiece illustrations used in the publication of Japanese novels and magazines around the turn of the 20th century. Most kuchi-e prints were illustrations of bijin and continued the tradition of idealized beauties in Japanese art. The subjects, however, have a decidedly Meiji era feel about them and reflect the artistic movement towards more western design. Kuchi-e prints typically have one or two folds because of their use.

The Kuchi-e Print Clearance - We’ve accumulated a large number of original kuchi-e prints by different artists and organized them into a clearance group to be offered over a couple weeks. These are the ends of collections, old inventory, prints with condition issues, etc. The prints will open at $39, any high bid wins. In order to start them this low, we are not identifying the design and we are not offering any condition report. Please refer to our carefully produced photos to determine condition. Enjoy shopping the Kuchi-e Print Clearance!
