Original Meiji era Japanese Woodblock Print
Temple Grounds, 1888

Comments - Nice view of people strolling along the stone pathways across the grounds of temple. Most of the visitors wear traditional kimono, but a few elements of Western clothing can be seen. A man wearing a green jacket, pants, and a hat pauses to chat with a man wearing a fringed plaid shawl over his black coat. The colorful temple building can be seen at right. An interesting Meiji era subject.
