Wife of Tokugawa Ieyoshi, No. 12 - Beautiful scene of Takako, who married Tokugawa Ieyoshi at the age of fifteen, admiring the cherry blossoms with her attendant. The trees are covered in clouds of pink blooms, producing a lovely landscape setting for the portrait. She lifts the edge of the sheer robe draped over her head as she looks up with a smile. Fine detail in the hair styles and delicate embossing on the white kimono fabric. A charming spring design.
