Courtesan Looking out a Window

Comments - Lovely portrait of a courtesan looking down through the wooden grill of a window, resting one hand atop a roll of tissues as she leans forwards. Her outer kimono features a blossoming tree, worn over a red tie-dyed under robe trimmed with brocade and tied with a striped obi. Her hair is pulled back into a smooth bun, adorned with a comb and many floral hairpins. At upper left, an aizuri-e or all blue inset features two beauties and two men. A handsome design, nicely composed.

Image Size - 14 5/8" x 10 1/8" + top margin as shown
