Comments - Handsome scene of Prince Genji enjoying an evening of music. He kneels on a cushion at right, smiling happily as he rests one hand atop a shakuhachi flute. He grins at the beauty at left, who plays a biwa or Japanese lute. The room opens onto a view of cherry blossoms framing the night sky. A lovely design, beautifully color and detailed, with embossing on the white kimono trim and the white stand at upper left that holds a pile of scrolls.
