Series; True Portraits of Faithful Samurai, 1853
Oboshi Chikara Yoshikane - Great portrait from the famous tale of the 47 ronin of fifteen-year-old Oboshi Chikara Yoshikane, the son of the leader of the ronin, Oboshi Kuranosuke. He sits on a folding stool with a spear in hand, wearing the ronins' trademark black and white robe over a gray kimono tucked into floral print pants, a suit of armor, and a helmet with an attached cape. A nice large expressive figure from a rarely seen Kuniyoshi series, detailed with cloth embossing on the white areas of the robe.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Stitching holes at side, small hole and thinning spot, repaired. Creasing, slight toning and soiling. Please see photos for details.
