Series; Tokyo Scenes

Tokyo Scenes - Kiyochika's comic circa 1897 series "Tokyo Scenes" features amusing views of daily life in the city. Many of the images highlight the rapid modernization taking place in Japan during the Meiji era, depicting recent imports such as the rickshaw and tram. Drawn with lively calligraphic line work, these satiric views offer a witty look at the changing times. The first time we've offered designs from this series.
