Senso-ji Temple at Kinryuzan, 1882

Comments - Lovely triptych showing the Meiji Emperor and Empress and members of the Imperial court visiting the grounds of Senso-ji Temple at Kinryuzan. The royal couple watches from the left as some of the ladies in waiting scatter grain for the pigeons, which gobble up the feed eagerly. The temple spire rises in the distance at right above the blossoming cherry trees. A handsome setting with lively color and fine embossed detail on the white kimono collars.
