Kawarazaki Gonjuro as Taira Atsumori, 1862 - Handsome kabuki portrait of Kawarazaki Gonjuro as Atsumori, the tragic young Taira prince who was killed during his first battle at Ichi-no-Tani. He looks up with a slight frown as he holds a folding fan on his lap, wearing a green robe with the Taira butterfly crest over a fine suit of armor. His hair is still worn in a youthful style, pulled back into a low ponytail and unshaven atop his head. A poignant, expressive image, beautifully detailed with fine line work in the hair and bokashi shading on the night sky.

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 1/2" + top margin as shown
