Snow Viewing Mokuboji Temple: the Uekiya Restaurant - Fantastic design from a very unusual series by Hiroshige depicting famous restaurants. Three beauties arrive by boat at the Uekiya Restaurant at Mokuboji Temple, lifting the hems of their kimono as they walk along on tall wooden geta sandals. A wooden bridge arches across the Sumida River in the background, and a guest enjoys the winter landscape from a second story verandah. A fantastic scene, beautifully detailed with soft shading in the water. Rarely seen in reprint.
