Kumagai Jiro, 1852

Comments - Dramatic kabuki portrait of the Minamoto general Kumagai Jiro Naozane grimacing angrily and waving his fan. He wears a boldly patterned black and yellow vest over a green kimono with large floral motifs. His short hair and sideburns stick out wildly, adding to his agitated appearance. Nicely detailed with burnishing on the black lacquer areas of the fan.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Backed with paper. Stitching holes at side, repaired. Slight creasing and soiling. Please see photos for details.
