Series; The False Murasaki's Rustic Genji

Aoi, Chapter 9, circa 1835 - Charming portrait of a beauty smiling happily as she reads a poem slip. She leans against a pile of padded robes, one arm atop an elegant lacquer armrest, a dreamy expression on her face as she looks down. Her white outer robe is lightly embossed with a geometric pattern, worn over a red under robe with a light blue collar, a sash tied around her forehead. At upper left, Mitsuuji, the country or rustic Genji appears on the inside of a shell while the Genji symbol for the chapter on another shell An attractive design from a rarely seen Kunisada beauty series.
