Bando Takesaburo I as Oguri Sotan and Iwai Kumesaburo III as Mancho's Daughter, Okoma, 1851

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene from the play "Sekai o Hana Oguri Gaiden" featuring Bando Takesaburo I as Oguri Sotan and Iwai Kumesaburo III as Okoma, the daughter of Mancho. Sotan sits beside a black lacquer makeup chest with a mirror atop it, frowning angrily up at the young beauty. She looks back at him with an alarmed expression, her mouth slightly agape, as she wipes a comb clean with a tissue. A white robe with a blue wisteria pattern hangs over a stand behind the couple. Nice expressive figures in a detailed interior setting.

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A couple holes, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases. Please see photos for details.
