Palace Confrontation

Comments - Interesting kabuki scene of confrontation in a palace between a nobleman and two Chinese nobles. At lower right, one of the Chinese men leans forward with an angry grimace, throwing his hand out in alarm. The bearded nobleman in the center regards him with a sober frown as he gestures at the seated beauty at left, pointing to her with a small wooden staff. The room behind them has a tiled floor and a colorful curtain hanging in a shaped doorway with a black lacquer frame. Wonderful detail in the elegant clothing, including burnishing on the black areas of the nobleman's robe.
