Matron with Two Swords

Comments - Interesting kabuki portrait of a matron carrying two swords under her arm. She looks back over her shoulder with a wary frown, looking suspiciously out of the corners of her eyes. She wears a blue kimono with a furry black collar over two red under robes, a white cloth pinned protectively around her hairstyle. Nicely detailed with burnishing in the black collar, embossing in the white kimono trim, and bokashi shading in the evening sky.

Artist - Kuniaki II (1835 - 1888)

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 10" + margins as shown
