Omi, Autumn Moon over Ishiyama, Murasaki Shikibu, No. 1 - Lovely woodblock of Lady Murasaki Shikibu, the eleventh-century author of the famous "Tale of Genji." She stands on the verandah of the Buddhist temple at Ishiyama where she began writing the story, looking out over a beautiful fall moon with geese flying above the lake. The inset above features a lovely view of Lake Biwa looking toward Mt. Hiei, with the pagoda of the temple at Ishiyama just visible. Beautifully drawn and colored, with embossing on the white kimono.
