Scene from Date kurabe Okuni kabuki, 1849 - Interesting scene from the play "Date kurabe Okuni kabuki, " a drama about the disputed succession of the Date clan. Here, a kneeling man throws his hands out in a stopping motion as he leans forward, frowning angrily. A young boy rushes forward at right with a concerned expression on his face. A sword lies on the floor beside a trunk at right, and a screen at left is decorated with peony blossoms. Nice expressive figures, detailed with a burnished plaid pattern on the boy's black coat.

Image Size - 14 3/8" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. Slight paper remnants on reverse at edges from previous mounting. Small thinning spot, repaired. Slight toning and soiling, a few creases and stains, slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details.
