Sawamura Sojuro V as Horie no Wankyu, 1847 - Interesting kabuki portrait of Sawamura Sojuro V as Horie no Wankyu in the play "Omeyana gitsui no aigasa." He hops on one foot as he dances about, holding a pole behind his shoulders with one hand. He looks to the side with an angry frown, his brows furrowed. He wears an unusual cloth cap and a short black coat over a checked kimono scattered with flowers and tied with a yellow sash. Colorful autumn maple leaves frame the blue sky above. Nicely detailed.

Condition - This print with excellent detail as shown. A few holes, repaired. Slight toning, creasing, and soiling. Please see photos for details.
